I may have a house, but I don't have a home

I may have a house, but I don't have a home,

A roof over my head, but I still feel alone.

The walls may be sturdy, the floors may be clean,

But without love and warmth, what does it all mean?

A house is just a structure, a place to reside,

But a home is where memories and emotions collide.

It's where you feel safe, where you're free to be you,

Where love and laughter and comfort ensue.

A home is where family and friends gather 'round,

Where stories are shared and love can be found.

It's where you can let your guard down and be true,

Where you're accepted and loved for simply being you.

So I may have a house, but I don't have a home,

Without love and companionship, I'm left all alone.

For a home is more than just a place to live,

It's where the heart is, where love and life give.
