A Poem

Gone are those days,

When just the two of us could fill the entire classroom,

Now there’s just a void, consuming me from inside,

Saying we’re close to doom.

Gone are those days,

When we couldn’t wait a second to tell each other things,

Oh, how trivial it seems now,

How our hearts never needed heartstrings.

Two souls, poles apart in nature,

One loud as the sea, other silent as a tree,

Bound together by a glue so strong,

Everyone around could see.

Three year long friendship,

Withering with every passing day,

A silence so cruel, a scar so deep,

Even time couldn’t heal away.

The aching wound resurfaces from time to time,

But it isn’t as bad as it used to be,

I still hold grudges, cause that’s my nature,

But somewhere deep inside, I want you to be happy, I want you to be free.
